Commodity buyer casting/mechanical

Our Client is a global automotive leader active in the Commercial & Specialty Vehicles, Powertrain, and related Financial Services arenas that employs approximately 34,000 people around the world and has 28 manufacturing plants and 29 R&D centers.
Within Group Procurement team, the resource will be responsible for managing a complete product line of Casting & Machining Commodity in terms of both operative and strategical tasks.
• Suppliers selection and sourcing for assigned product lines. This includes RFQ activity, analysis of supplier responses and quotes and placing blanket purchase orders;
• Leading and facilitation of pricing negotiations and contract discussions, dealing with all the Company Departments needed to fulfill the targets;
• Develop / implement supply base management strategies both regionally and globally that lead to lowest total cost in terms of quality, lead time, delivery, and pricing;
• Support cost savings initiatives for sourcing area base;
• Support special projects as necessary;
• Support and resolve supplier issues such as accounts payable resolution, past due deliveries, and risks related to production lines and aftermarket customers;
• To look for alternative suppliers into independent after market, in the aim to reach cost reduction target;
• To keep Purchasing Parts budget on track;
• To maximize communication between Marketing & Purchasing teams to reduce possible price increase impact.
GENERAL BACKGROUND:
• Purchasing / Procurement background (+ 3 years of experience)
• Knowledge on main automotive environment
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
• Negotiation attitude
• Ability in suppliers’ governance
• MS Office suite deep knowledge (especially Excel and Power Point)
• SAP (If3, GPP) knowledge
• Fluent English
EDUCATION:
• Degree / Master Degree in Engineering – Economics
SOFT SKILLS:
• Flexibility and team-working oriented
• Excellent communication skills
• High sense of responsibility
• Strongly self-motivated, determined and proactive, result driven
• Problem solving oriented
