Neos Airlines is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Controller to join its Maintenance Control Center (MCC) in Milan. The MCC is the airline technical 24/7 control room, responsible for managing the real-time airworthiness and operational readiness of the in-service fleet.

As a Senior Maintenance Controller, you will act as the primary technical authority for live operational decision-making across the Boeing 737 NG/MAX and 787 fleet. Working in close coordination with Operations Control, CAMO and Maintenance Departments, Flight and Ground Operations.

Operational Command and Airworthiness Control

▪ Exercise primary technical authority for Go or No-Go dispatch decisions within Neos’s EASA-approved operational and airworthiness framework.

▪ Manage and apply MEL/CDL and deferred defects procedures, ensuring accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and clear operational communication.

▪ Provide CAMO airworthiness approvals for internal and external maintenance activities as defined in approved processes.

Fleet Monitoring and Technical Decision-Making

▪ proactive approach in continuously monitoring the technical status of the fleet using AMOS, aircraft health monitoring systems, and operational reports to identify degradation trends and mitigate in-service risk

▪ Assess pilot and technician reports, identify emerging and repetitive defects, and determine appropriate troubleshooting strategies and maintenance actions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Coordination and Recovery

▪ Lead technical response during Aircraft On Ground events, including fault assessment, recovery planning, coordination of maintenance activities and material sourcing/logistics.

▪ Work in close partnership with Operations Control to balance technical risk, aircraft availability, and schedule recovery.

▪ Ensure maintenance coverage across all bases and outstations, including flying spanners, Tech-on-Call resources, and external maintenance providers.

▪ Act as the Central technical liaison between all airline departments during live operational events.

▪ Serve as the primary technical interface with OEMs and external support organizations during complex troubleshooting and operational disruptions.

▪ Maintain disciplined event logging and structured shift handovers to ensure continuity of operational decision-making.

Education and Technical Background

▪ Aircraft maintenance licence or degree in Aeronautical engineering

Operational Experience

▪ Demonstrated experience in airline maintenance or live operational environments, typically gained through: o Licensed or certifying technician experience in a Part-145 organization, or previous proven experience in an active Maintenance Control Center.

▪ Working knowledge of EASA Part-M, Part-CAMO, and Part-145 regulations and their practical application in airline operations.

Systems and Fleet Exposure

▪ Experience using aircraft maintenance and tracking systems such as AMOS or equivalent MRO software.

▪ Familiarity with aircraft health monitoring systems.

▪ Operational exposure to Boeing 737 and or Boeing 787 fleets is preferred.

Core Competencies

▪ Demonstrated ability to take responsibility and sound technical decisions under time pressure during operational disruptions.

▪ Strong communication skills in English and Italian, both written and spoken.

▪ Ability to lead and coordinate technical activities remotely across multiple stations and time zones.

▪ Willingness to work structured shift rotations supporting 24-hour operations.
